Who We Are
Minister Match is an "executive search firm" focused on helping Churches of Christ fill their ministerial positions. We provide comprehensive educational, informational, and consultative resource for congregations and ministers to help both parties find their right fit. We believe that long-term ministers lead to healthier congregations and ultimately more people living in faithful obedience to Christ.
Our Story
The idea behind Minister Match, grew out of Don Viar's experience as part of the search committee for a youth minister at his home congregation. That committee struggled to find the best way to facilitate the search process itself and then with finding the best candidates. After carefully surveying the resources available on the Internet and within the Churches of Christ fellowship, Don knew that there had to be a better way.
Coincidentally, while serving on the youth minister search committee, Don was also on the search committee for a new Dean of Business at a local university. Don took the best practices from the university's search firm along with his own experience in business, and created the Minister Hiring Process and wrote the The Search Committee Handbook -- A Step-by-Step Guide To Hiring Your Next Minister.
